COMMANDER:
Hello again, I hope you are enjoying the weather. At the May Post meeting elections will be held for Post officers. Come on down and participate in running your Post.
May 8th is Mothers Day and also is Victory in Europe Day (1945).
Due to the current economic and world conditions we have to raise the prices on the Legion Steak Dinner and Family Steak and Egg Breakfast for the first time in 2 1/2 years. In this time frame the price of the steaks alone has gone up $2.10 a pound, not to mention everything else going up. So we are raising the price $1.00 on both meals.
On Friday May 13th from 6-8pm it's the LEGION CHARCOAL GRILLED STEAK DINNER with baked potato, mushrooms, dinner roll and SALAD BAR $10.00.
On Sunday May 15th from 9-1pm it's the LEGION FAMILY STEAK AND EGG BREAKFAST with American fries, toast, juice and coffee $7.00. This day is also ARMED FORCES DAY, A day to recognize all the branches of service.
On Tuesday May 17th at 7pm we will have the Installation of Officers.
Saturday May 21st our Color Guard will lead off the Golden Valley Days Parade.
On Memorial Day, May 30th we will join with the G. V. VFW in a Memorial Service. It is the VFW's turn to host, so we will start at our Post and end at the VFW. So come on and join us in remembering our fallen comrades.
In closing lets not forget our troops in harms way. They need our continued support. May the "FORCE" be with them.
Thank you for your support.
Commander,
George Jansen
